Iranian University Students’ Quran, Etrat Competition Begins in Tabriz

IQNA – The 38th edition of the Quran and Etrat competition of Iran’s university students was launched in the northwestern city of Tabriz on Monday.

The Tabriz University of Medical Sciences is hosting this year’s Quranic event. 

A total of 277 contenders are vying for the top prize in different categories in the men and women sections.  

They are the ones who have made it to the finals after showcasing the best performance in preliminary rounds.

Tarteel, Quran recitation, memorization of the Quran at different levels, recitation of supplications and elegy recitation are among the categories of the contest.

A total of 45 Quran experts are serving in the panels of judges in the men and women sections.

The competition will run through Wednesday, September 11, 2024.

The annual event is jointly organized by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology and the Ministry of Health and Medical Science.

It is aimed at promoting the Quranic teachings among university students.
